House of Curries - Berkeley, CA

Then just like that, I'm having Indian and Pakistani food with an old friend in Berkeley, CA the following evening. Talk about playing with the mind after spending a boring night at JB's Restaurant sitting next to the salad bar in Salt lake City. Honestly, after a three or four-day trip my mind is so completely overloaded with experiences that it normally takes one day to recover at home. That's typically what happens when pilots witness thousands of different things in less than a week, compared to what most people experience in a whole month, or even a year.

Here's a good example - I have a good friend who recently ferried a new Cessna 182 from Kansas to Afghanistan (yes, a Cessna) who stopped in Maine, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, some Baltic country, Turkey, and across the Caspian Sea over Turkmenistan and eventually into Afghanistan in less than one week. He experienced more in five days than 99 percent of all people on this planet will ever experience in their entire lives. When he arrived home after this incredible journey, he told me he was completely useless for several days. He said his mind was on "overload" and that he just could not function as a normal human being. Can you imagine going to work in a cube after something like that? I couldn't, or wouldn't. Lastly, he mentioned he just felt like he didn't fit in with society for a while, which I can completely understand. Sometimes the best thing to do is curl up in the fetal position and suck your thumb, or blog about it. That's how I get it all out.

Anyway, It's time to eat some chicken tikka masala, dahl, naan, and some other dish that I honestly have no idea what's in it.

Hi Holly!

Yes, my friend actually did write about it, but unfortunately will never be able to post it on a blog. Amazing stuff! The food was excellent! Thanks for asking.
