I fly over this place commonly on my way into Ft. Lauderdale from the west, and while most of the time I pass over it at twilight, I still know that Ft. Myers and the Gulf Coast of Southwest Florida really have some beautiful beaches. I have written frequently about this area, and now that winter has returned I like to bring up how nice it is down here during the colder months. Most of our customers know too, as our planes from the Northeast are usually packed.
If traveling to Southwest Florida, Ft. Myers Beach is usually a nice place to start. Jetting out into the Gulf with a long, narrow sandbar that stretches south toward Naples, you can usually find beachcombers, seashell shops, quaint restaurants, hotels, and condominiums hugging the beach on both ends. You can spend all day here and think you are further south in Key West or the Caribbean.
I guess that is the whole point this time of year.

Marco Island is also a great place! About an hour south of Ft. Myers right across a bridge from Naples
Cheers,
and keep those posts coming!!

Marco Island, the only place I know of where the sand "squeaks" beneath your feet.
